It's always a good sign when a pub has plently of locals in the bar, and The Mitre is no exception. Pretty much the focal point of this pretty village, the pub offers a good range of local beers, and some tasty pub grub. Expect ham egg and chips or curry (and some nice sandwiches) rather than any fancy gastropub fare. Dependable and friendly, if unspectacular.
