The Brace of Pheasants is a picture-postcard-perfect Dorset pub in the hamlet of Plush. Think thatched cottage, open fire, skittle alley and a Tolkien-like interior and you''ll be pretty close to the mark. The Brace of Pheasants has an impressive menu based on local products and has won a number of food awards. Local beers are well represented and excellent wines are also available by the bottle or glass. Plush is not the easiest village to find, but you can always listen out for the musical strains of concert pianist Alfred Brendel, who also lives there, and occasionally gives concerts in the pretty little church.
