A fairly depressing hotel website does little justice to The White House. Accommodation is simple but clean, but the hotel's real strength lies in the quality of its food and friendly family atmosphere. Winner of endless culinary awards, head chef Ian at The White House almost exclusively uses local ingredients, creating traditional English meals with a modern twist. The rooms have recently been refurbished - hopefully the hotel website will receive the same treatment soon!
